All PVTC Pros teach, participate in events, and want to share their love of tennis with YOU. Pedro Alipio, PVTC Head Pro. Pedro comes from a tennis family in Brazil where his father has taught tennis for over 45 years. Pedro started playing tennis at age 5 and by age 10 was ranked number 2 in the nation in doubles. He was in the top 20 in singles by age 17. The ranking brought him to this country on a full scholarship to play tennis at Hampton University in Virginia. In his senior year he went undefeated with a 28-0 record playing number 5 singles. After graduating he moved to the South Bay where he has been teaching since 1988.
Pedro has the experience and ability to teach the mechanics of the strokes to all ages and levels. Pedro also specializes in teaching doubles tactics and strategy.

PVTC Pro and Director of Junior Development John Carrizosa has taught in the South Bay for 30 years. He enjoys teaching a wide range of players. His students have included an NCAA doubles champion, a member of the U.S. Junior Davis Cup team, nationally ranked juniors, countless Marine League players, and 10 and under QuickStart Tennis. He teaches the Modern Tennis Method which simplifies the game and accelerates the learning process, enabling students to improve at a quicker pace.

PVTC Pro Kristen Flagler began her tennis career playing competitively as a Junior. She continued at P.V. High and went on to 4 years NCAA championship play at U.C.S.D. where she earned degrees in both Biochemistry and Sports Nutrition.
Kristen continues to be a student of tennis as a USPTA member, attending conferences and seminars. She currently holds a top 20 National ranking in Women’s Doubles. She attributes much of her success to her off-court fitness training; maintaining a competitive mentality and dedicated work ethic, which is part of her teaching program.
She brings energy and delight to coaching at all levels, ages and abilities.

PVTC Pro Ted White has 19 years of teaching experience, all at the Palos Verdes Tennis Club. He grew up in Palos Verdes and played four years of varsity tennis at Palos Verdes High School. His favorite part of the job is working with kids of all ages. He has been teaching Junior Workouts at PVTC since 1994. He enjoys teaching kids about fitness and showing them not only how to be good tennis players, but better athletes.

PVTC Pro Jason Sikola has been a part of the Palos Verdes Tennis Club since 1998. His credentials include a degree from UCLA, a United States Professional Tennis Association certification, and 15 years of teaching experience. He is available for private and group tennis instruction as well as hitting. He is a valued part of the PVTC because of his experience in running the club's junior workouts, coaching and organizing junior team tennis, and assisting with club events and tournaments.

PVTC Pro Ken Shoji was born and raised in Torrance, CA. He played competitive tennis tournaments throughout his junior years. He has been coaching tennis since 2004, including a year of coaching in Tachikawa, Japan. His students are of all ages and levels. He also offers hitting opportunities for many ranked juniors in the area.

Ramon Toro has been the Maintenance Supervisor for the Palos Verdes Tennis Club for over 25 years. In addition to overseeing the beautification and upkeep of roughly a 6 acre property, he makes it a habit to offer members a smile and warm greeting.
